First organised by TNRA in 2003, the community skip is provided free-of-charge to TNRA by Southwark Council. We hope that fewer large items are left on the streets in between skip weekends as a result, thus keeping our environment cleaner and greener.
... and after
Since its inception, the community skip scheme has been a huge success and TNRA has received many favourable comments. The skip has been well used on all its visits and residents have clearly been spurred on to clear out their dross. The enthusiasm with which items have been removed from the skip is also a good example of local recycling.
The community skip comes to Trinity Church Square on the first Saturday of every month and is usually in place for the whole weekend. The skip may arrive on Friday and may be removed on Sunday if it is very full.
Trinity Church Square or Trinity Street. The location varies, so search all possibilities.
Use of the skip
The skip is for: large domestic refuse and large garden rubbish
It is NOT for: refrigerators, freezers, brick rubble, asbestos or chemicals
- Please don't fill the skip too full.
- Break up large empty boxes etc to help fill the skip efficiently.
- Put reusable items outside the skip first – someone else may well want them.
AND: feel free to take stuff out!
