Opera in the Square

On Sunday 26 July 2015, in spite of cool and slightly wet weather, four opera singers gave a sparkling performance in Trinity Church Square garden. Louisa Barry, Una Reynolds, Ben Kerslake and Dan Miller sang many well-known tunes from operas and entertained a stalwart audience of over 40 residents and friends under our new gazebos in the garden, not to mention the passers-by and neighbours with open windows.

TNRA thanks all the singers, particularly Louisa for organising them, and United St Saviour's Charity for a grant which made the event possible. Apologies to anyone who turned up later in the afternoon after the event. The advertised plan was to have three sessions from 2 pm to 5 pm while visitors basked in the sun inbetween. However, this was scuppered by the weather and the performers sang for an hour non-stop to save us and them from getting too cold or wet. We are very grateful to them for singing at all in those conditions and hope that we might repeat the event another year in sunshine.

See here for more details about the singers.
