I respond on behalf of the Committee of the Trinity Newington Residents' Association (TNRA) SE1 to the above planning application for the 28-30 Trinity Street site. TNRA is the association representing tenants / residents of the Trinity Newington Estate SE1 (in Trinity Church Square, Trinity Street, Merrick Square, Falmouth Road, Swan Street and Cole Street).
The consultation opened on 2 March but the application documents do not appear to have been scanned on to the Council website until 8 March. The application states that no neighbours were consulted and we regret that this was the case. The Council website states that one of the ways in which the public is informed about planning applications is:
by sending a neighbour consultation letter to the occupiers of those properties immediately adjoining the application site and others who are felt may be directly affected by the development
Properties on the east side of Trinity Church Square and the west side of Merrick Square adjoin the site.
It would have been helpful if consultation letters had been sent to these adjoining properties and to TNRA.
We have no objections on visual grounds to this proposal but note that that it involves a relaxation from the original requirement to provide 20% renewable energy and view this as a small but regrettable relaxation.
