On a fine evening in July 2011, John Constable led about 30 of us on another of his walks for TNRA around Borough and Bankside. We took in many local sites with literary and historical connections, including Dickens Square, Charles Dickens School and (John’s favourite) Cross Bones graveyard. After a rest in Mint Street Park, we visited Redcross Way Garden and the site of Chaucer’s Tabard Inn, before finishing at the Royal Oak for some well earned pints.
Thanks to John for another enjoyable walk and to Southwark Council for the Community Fund grant which funded the event.
