2.5.1923 - 26.1.2005 Mary first came to live in 39 Trinity Church Square in 1943 when we got married, the last couple to be married at the high altar in Trinity Church.* It was at the start of the buzz bomb era and, due to the windows and doors being blown in, she had to spend her wedding night down the Borough tube station. For the birth of her daughter Linda, she was sent to Derby in 1947. Linda was followed by a son, Graham, in 1956 and Mary was always so proud of the wonderful family that followed. She was also very happy to spend 48 years having a yearly holiday at Babbacombe, which she loved and where she made many friends. She is pictured here at Babbacombe, celebrating a wedding anniversary. Mary was so well known for her wonderful smile, in spite of many health problems. She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. Reg Statham |
