Time was running out on us and the coach left to pick up the Boulogne-sur-mer contingent to bring them back to Bournonville

With the extended delays the 1983 red ran out. Tony Linforth Hall negotiated with the proprietor who apologetically offered us a bottle of "old" wine at the same price. This turned out to be a 1971 Vosne Romanee!

Tim and the window table made short work of that bottle, and another was ordered

Other tables were told and soon their entire stock was on order

Sadly some of the other bottles were water damaged but happily this didn't affect the wine

The coach then returned as we were completing our dessert and we'd sadly run out of time as we only had one driver so the hoped for side trip to the hypermarche did not work out. We poured back into the coach and although we missed our planned ferry we made it onto the next one and thus arrived back in Dover in daylight, eventually getting back to the Estate around 9pm.
